Known as the "Comet of the Century," this is a comet originating from the Oort Cloud, discovered in 2023 by observatories in China and South Africa. It was photographed on October 17, 2024, shortly after reaching peak brightness. Despite being very low on the horizon and under strong moonlight, it had a magnitude of approximately 2 and displayed a long dust tail, as well as a faint antitail. At the time it was photographed, it was beginning to move away toward the outer regions of the Solar System.
