NGC 1333 is a reflection nebula in the constellation Perseus and is one of the nearest star-forming regions. The newly formed stars in NGC 1333 are less than a million years old. Much of their light is obscured by the dark dust cloud from which they formed. Using NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope, it was possible to detect infrared radiation from these objects, allowing astronomers to peer through the veil of dust and better understand the early stages of star formation.
