The nebula LDN 1147 is part of the Lynds dark nebula complex. It is a region of space where stars are actively forming within the cores of dense, dark clouds. Located approximately 1,300 light-years away in the constellation Cepheus, this area is known for its obscuring features that hide young stars. It is a nebula rich in molecular clouds and contains several stars in the process of formation.
